Are You in Toxic Relationship With Social Media?

At start of the year I spent a good chunk of time offline which gave me the space to really look at all areas of my life and biz and work out what I want to take forward into 2022.

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that one of the main places I share about my services is Instagram.

I’ve mostly had a love hate relationship with the platform…

…until I set some clear boundaries on how I was showing up on and off the gram.

💁🏼‍♀️ Here’s the thing,

In the past I’d struggle getting to sleep because I was designing instagram posts in my head. I’d worry that I wasn’t posting enough, or maybe too much! I thought I needed to always be on, reply instantly and make sure my content was just as shiny and savvy as other people in my field.

Well hang on a minute…

Has what used to be a bit of fun turned into a toxic relationship that is keeping me awake at night? Has planning content and staying “consistent” actually killed my creativity and dulled the intuitive pings? And what is this deep fear that if I decide to unfollow an account for whatever reason I would lose a friend for life?

If any of this sounds familiar, keep reading because I’ve got the juice for you.

“Intsagram’s an emotional rollercoaster of a platform.”

I’m 38 now which means that I just about fit into the millennial age bracket, this also means that I’ve spent most of my life in the digital space.

Then add the fact that I was a MySpace kid, learnt to code in my teens and have always been drawn to jobs that involved learning software and problem solving.

🔘 Historically all of my tech, that’s not social media, has worked for me.

🔘 I drive the results, I choose how to show up and I quit when I feel like it.

🔘 Social media and Instagram especially, has so many different threads of energy running through it.

🔘 It’s an emotional rollercoaster of a platform.

It’s not like a nice stable piece of editing or design software, where you know where you are at every step of the way.

It’s a dopamine making machine that leaves you high and dry after a 30 minute scroll fest.

So my friend here’s the codes on socials…

…to help you come at them with a different perspective, a fresh eye so that you can have more TIME, ENERGY and FREEDOM to create from your own wellspring of inner content.

Consider and journal on these 4 questions:

1. If social media didn’t exist how would I feel and what would I do with all that free time?

2. If social media disappeared today how would I create a sense of community in my life?

3. If I didn’t care about what people thought of me, what would I post & who’d I unfollow?

4. If I got blocked from social media how would I market my services?

Now when I asked myself that last question it sparked not only an idea but a whole mini course on how to market your soul services off Social Media.

And because this year for me is all about community, creativity and consciousness I want to give it to you for fraction of the actual investment.
