Conscious female creator networking event

In collaboration with Hackney Downs Studios, I'm hosting the first in a series of conscious female creator get-togethers with my pop up feel-good studio The Curious and Co

Coffee and collaboration goes a long way and so does a healthy dose of inspiration from someone that's done it all before. I want to show you that don't need to walk this path not alone and that sister solidarity in the workplace is real and available right here.

We will start the morning with a little intro from myself and then an inspiring presentation from Hackney Downs own conscious creator Megan who runs package free store called Re-Store. This will be followed by a mini panel chat covering the topic ‘Fear of Success’ and will lead on to 30 mins of networking. You will then be invited to join the conversation around the topic of 'Success' or just enjoy each other's company with good coffee and good vibes.

celebrating international women's day

This event is in celebration of International Women's Day so it's for all females everywhere. Whether your working full time or part time, running your own business or managing a team. The plan is to provide you with a healthy dose of inspiration and support so you can roll into the weekend feeling empowered.

international women's day

Collective action and shared responsibility for driving a gender-balanced world is key.International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender balance.

The first International Women's Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist, and activist once explained "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."

introducing our speaker

Megan is the founder and owner of Re:Store, a refill shop that has just opened in Hackney Downs Studios, giving customers the opportunity to shop without single-use packaging. The business came about after a new year's resolution last year to use less plastic turned into an obsession! There were only two zero waste stores in London at the time and after visiting them and speaking to the owners she was inspired to open her own. Megan's focus is on providing products without plastic & unnecessary packaging, and sustainable alternatives to our everyday products.

She worked on the business plan over the summer and left her corporate job in November after confirming the space at Hackney Downs Studios. Megan’s background is in management & technology consulting, working with UK retailers to implement new technologies and improve processes & operations which feeds in nicely to her new and exciting business venture.
